The name Bloodhound was derived from the expression “blooded hound”, meaning a hound of pure breeding.
American Bloodhound Club, the American Kennel Club’s official Bloodhound web site. We are excited to have you visit and learn more about our special bloodhounds. The Bloodhound is not a dog that one simply owns or belongs to; but it is a breed that captivates almost everyone who comes in contact with them. We often refer to ourselves not as Bloodhound owners but Bloodhound people.

Joan Johnson at Blue Ridge Graphics is an amazing person with incredible talents. She is also a very astute and responsible business woman who manages to delight her customers with creative, timely, and informative results. Some you might even call “works of art.”
I met Joan three years ago when the American Bloodhound Club was in search of a new website. Up till then club members were responsible for our website and it just wasn’t working. We need a fresh new design and Joan didn’t disappoint. Joan responded to our “Request for Proposal” and the rest is history.
The fact that Joan was also a breeder and exhibitor of AKC Collies gave us great comfort. Joan spoke our language. She understood exactly what we were trying to achieve and her experience with dog clubs was a major bonus. She makes it fun.
From this initial experience Joan soon became family as she continued to work on three other dog club related websites. Without a doubt I would highly recommend Joan Johnson at Blue Ridge Graphics. I guarantee she won’t disappoint.
